About Us
The Boosters Club of Canal Winchester was founded in 1954 as a nonprofit corporation. Formerly and lovingly known as CWAB, the organization maintains our original commitment to support the athletic programs of the Canal Winchester Local School District for both middle and high school sports.
As the chief entity of all booster sports clubs, CWAB maintains and operates consistent with all legal requirements, rules, regulations, and policies of the State of Ohio, Internal Revenue Service, Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), and the Canal Winchester Local School District. We ensure that all clubs remain good stewards of the funds donated towards the programs, and that they maintain all legal requirements.
Thanks to the generous Canal Winchester community, in fiscal year 2022-2023, CWAB raised nearly $340,000 to support student athletes!
Sports Clubs
Sports Clubs manage the day-to-day booster operations of their designated athletic programs. Each club has a minimum of three Officers elected by the membership (e.g. parents, caregivers, and community members).
Clubs are members of the chief booster entity CWAB. Each conducts separate or joined fundraisers in coordination with other Clubs. Clubs are responsible for following all corporate management, financial, and fundraising policies.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors guide CWAB's mission and vision, set policies and guidelines, coordinate with the Canal Winchester Local School District, provide training and technical assistance to member Clubs, and maintain legal and financial filings as the chief entity.
Each Director is elected to the Board by the membership for a two-year renewable term. Clubs also have elected Officers who manage the day-to-day operations of their athletic club including fundraising, purchasing, and more.
Want to get involved? We are currently seeking qualified volunteers to join the board of directors as the Vice President! The VP will be responsible for:

Alongside the President, shall ensure the business of the operating organization is conducted consistent with all applicable laws, rules, and policies.

In the absence of the President, shall preside at all meetings and shall perform the duties of that office.

Alongside the President will collaborate with the Club Officers and other members of the Corporation and chairpersons of Committees.
Meetings are held in the evening every third Monday of each month. Board members are expected to maintain regular communication with the board. To learn about the responsibilities, time commitment, or to submit a letter of intent, please email the CWAB President.
